When you move correctly and you notice improvements in your movement technique, exercise becomes more enjoyable. This is not only because progress is motivating, but also because strength and conditioning helps to prevent injuries by developing quality movement patterns. A reduced concern with the risk of injury also helps to make training more enjoyable! Strength and Conditioning is about more than lifting weights – it encompasses the entire physical development of the athlete and what is required to allow them to be the best physical version of themselves. How does Strength and Conditioning have a performance impact? As a Strength and Conditioning coach, I utilise a performance backwards approach to model performance impacting training prescription based on the holistic needs of the athlete. I support the problem solving of performance questions within the sport through genuine curiosity and a constant drive to support athletes. This is based on a deep understanding of the sports I work with, their culture and the relationships between all those involved, which means I am able to integrate rapidly, build trust and add value. Strength & Conditioning makes the bodies of everyday people stronger, fitter and less injury prone – oh and with one really good side effect … it looks good too!
